Day-wise itinerary

  1. Day 1 Delhi / Chandigarh to Shimla

    Our driver picks you up from your hotel, railway station or airport in Delhi or Chandigarh. The road climbs from Kalka through pine forests with a stop at Dharampur or Solan for snacks. Check in at Shimla and rest. In the evening walk to The Ridge, Christ Church and the Mall Road — the town is at its prettiest when the lights come on across the hills.

  2. Day 2 Kufri, Green Valley and Shimla

    After breakfast drive to Kufri. On the way stop at Green Valley, a viewpoint over a forested slope. At Kufri enjoy pony rides to the top viewpoint, snow in winter, and the Himalayan Nature Park with its high-altitude animals and birds. In the afternoon visit Jakhu temple on Shimla’s highest point and the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (the old Viceregal Lodge). Free evening on the Mall.

  3. Day 3 Shimla to Manali by road

    Check out after breakfast for the long, scenic drive to Manali. The road passes through Bilaspur, Sundernagar lake and Mandi, then enters the Kullu valley at the Pandoh dam viewpoint and the long tunnel at Aut. Follow the Beas river past Kullu, where you can stop at a shawl factory outlet. Check in at Manali by evening.

  4. Day 4 Solang Valley excursion

    Full day at Solang Valley for snow, ropeway, paragliding or ATV rides (activities paid on the spot). When the road is open, continue through the Atal Tunnel to Sissu in Lahaul for views of the Chandra river and the waterfall. Return to Manali for dinner.

  5. Day 5 Manali sightseeing and romantic evening

    Visit the Hadimba Devi temple, Manu temple and the old wooden houses of Old Manali, the Vashisht hot springs, Club House and Van Vihar along the Beas. In the evening enjoy a quiet walk and shopping on Mall Road. Room decoration or a cake can be arranged on request.

  6. Day 6 Departure from Manali

    After breakfast check out and drive back to Chandigarh or Delhi for your train, flight or home. Plan onward travel for the evening or the next day, as mountain roads can be slow.
