Snow peaks, apple orchards and old wooden temples at the head of the Kullu Valley — the base for Solang, Atal Tunnel and Lahaul.

Manali sits at the northern end of the Kullu Valley, where the Beas river comes down from the Rohtang side. For most travellers it is the base for Solang Valley, the Atal Tunnel and the road into Lahaul, as well as quieter days in Old Manali, Vashisht and Naggar.

Planning a Manali trip

Families usually stay three to four nights and keep one day for Solang and one for the town itself. Couples often add a night in Naggar or Jibhi for a slower pace. Our office is on Naggar Road in Aleo, so we can help with local cabs, hotel choices and day plans.
